This nationwide FALC hosted juried exhibition is traditionally held at the Page-Walker Arts and History Center, in Cary. This year, due to covid19 restrictions, the exhibition will be held online. The call for artists (with full prospectus) is announced on CaFE (www.callforentry.org) in January and submissions will be accepted January 15, 2021 through March 15th. The submissions are then juried with accepted pieces going into the online exhibition. The Annual Juried Exhibition will run from approximately April 1, 2021 through May 31, 2021. A link to the CaFE call, with all details is sent to members in early January, and will be posted here, as well. AJE 2021 Show Chair is Tracy Carhart.
The March 2021 presenter is artist (watercolors and photography) Ryan Fox.
This presentation will be about the art of photographing our work. The photos of our work, the ones we use to create prints or to share with others through our websites or social media, need to look as close to the original as possible, and to do this properly we need to learn some important techniques. Ryan is an expert at this and will share a condensed version of his day-long class with us.
Monthly Member Meetings start with brief FALC announcements followed by a presentation (demonstrate or lecture) on art-related topics. A variety of guest speakers from the art community are invited. Presentation are suitable for artist of all levels.
Monthly meetings are the fourth Thursday of each month (January - October), and are usually held at the Cary Arts Center, on Dry Avenue, in Downtown Cary. Meetings are open to the public. Registration is not required.
