Widely acclaimed sculptor and instructor Paris Alexander will speak about his artistic journey and how he creates his stunning work showcasing human anatomy.

Paris's work can be found across the U.S, Canada, and England. It has been exhibited widely in galleries, universities, and museums, with numerous public and private commissions. His work is in numerous collections including the Town of Chapel Hill, Wake Med, Duke University, NCSU, UNC Chapel Hill, UNC Wilmington, Saks Fifth Avenue, the R.C. Kessler Collection, SAS Institute, former President Bill Clinton, former Senator Bob Dole, former Governor/Senator Bob Kerrey of Nebraska, and many others.

In 2019 Paris opened “City Market Artist Collective” (CMAC) in downtown Raleigh's historic City Market. He is also a sought-after instructor in sculpture, drawing, and anatomy. Besides teaching privately, he has been an instructor for several NC arts councils, The Lucy Daniels Center, the Artspace Arts and Outreach Programs, and the NC Museum of Art Outreach Program.

"Paris uses the human form as his subject, frequently in carved stone, but also in clay and hard plaster. He expresses himself equally well in all these materials. In fact these varied elements contribute to the power of his art."

-- Dr. Lawrence J. Wheeler, former Director of the North Carolina Museum of Art
