The Art Critique – an Introduction

We will have our final Artist RoundTable for 2022 on Wednesday October 26, 2022 (7-8:30 pm) at the Cary Arts Center, Principals Hall.

Initially we were scheduled to have artist Monica Linares as presenter, but Monica is unable to participate at this time.  I wanted to emphasize this in the event announcement that she will not be available so there is no confusion.

Our October 26, 2022 artist roundtable will consist of an introduction to the art critique. This will open the door to our having in person art critiques of your work that all of us can participate in.

The art critique is an important ability to understand and use. It is important because it will aid you to grow as an artist. You don’t want to not merely create continuously without critical reviewing of your own work. Besides your own ability to critique, when you go to someone else for more objective eyes, you will understand how it needs to be done.

Art Critique is a very subjective process so whom you go to affects the outcome of what they will be able to assess. Therefore, it is better if you have different perspectives and are cognizant of the process.

I hope you will be able to attend the last for the year 2022 Artist Roundtable. Our 2023 season will open in January with David Blevins a photographer and author.
