Artist's Statement
I started teaching myself to draw in 2009 from books written by accomplished artists, first with graphite pencils, and then with colored pencils. Late in 2014 acrylic painting self-instruction began, again with books. But this time, abstract was the style of interest which created a lovely balance with the realism of my colored pencil artwork.

Experimenting with media or subject-matter, whether with pencil or paint, is ongoing and exciting. Creating art can be mesmerizing, with each medium having its own unique challenges, techniques, and feel. Even different brands of paint and colored pencils behave differently on paper and canvas. Like my life, eclectic choices are part of my style.
Artist's Bio
My corporate career revolved around Human Resource and Administrative Management in small, entrepreneurial organizations. I moved on to the art world and have been a member of Cary Gallery of Artists since 2015. I'm also a member of the local chapter (DC#114) of the Colored Pencil Society of America and participate in shows and exhibits around the state. All my colored pencil artwork has been scanned for reproduction in the form of beautiful, archival Giclée prints of almost any size.
