Sarah was a user interface pioneer and IBM UI Creative Director for 25 years, establishing global IBM corporate design standards. She had the opportunity to collaborate with international design leaders Norm Cox, Paul Rand and Richard Sapper and Virginia Howlett.
She was one of the first to establish multidisciplinary teams, story based design and storyboarding - now all industry standard practices - in the early days of user interface design. This creative journey awarded her a dozen corporate design awards and 25 patents. Richard’s wife of 37 years, 36 as Cary resident and mother of three 20 somethings, now an emerging oil painter, she is enjoying the opportunity to bring her years of project management in service of community arts in Cary through the Fine Arts League of Cary.
