About My Art
I'm a lifelong photographer and writer living with my two elderly cats, Charlie and Clancy. I try to create something every day, whether it's with one of my cameras, my pen and paper, or creating a delicious new recipe in my kitchen. I'm excited to restart my journey as an artist!

Artist's Bio
Victoria Klum (b. 1965, Portland, Oregon) is an award-winning photographer and best-selling author who currently lives and works in Cary, North Carolina. Her work is a reflection of her life. They include scenes from her daily commutes and explorations around the San Francisco Bay Area, where she lived for 24 years, as well as images from her hometown of Portland, Oregon and travels around the Triangle. Having shot film (35mm and medium format) most of her life, she appreciates the slowness and intentionality of her medium. Her body of work is all about stopping, observing, and capturing scenes and moments that most people pass by without noticing. Victoria’s photography has been displayed at the Rock, Paper, Scissors Gallery in Oakland California, as part of the “Don’t Fail Me Now” exhibit (August, 2006), and at the Frank Bette Center for the Arts in Alameda, California (“Alameda on Camera” exhibit: 2012, 2014). Her image, “Crossing Timelines,” won the Historic Alameda Award in the 2012 AOC exhibition. She has been featured as a contributing editor and photographer for online soccer publications and published a personal essay in the Amazon best-selling book, “The Power Within: Somatic & Spiritual Stories of Resilience” (pub. 2025). She has volunteered as a writer and photographer for Best Friend Pet Adoption, a Cary-based pet rescue organization, since 2018.
Artist's Statement
For much of my childhood, I was given to believe that being shy, socially awkward, and very dreamy and curious was a weakness. My camera (well, technically, my Grandpa’s camera) and my pencil alchemized those traits into my superpower. While my subjects span much of the photographic spectrum, from landscapes, street photography, and still life to pet portraits and professional sports, my creative philosophy can be summed up in three words: Explore, Observe, and Record. I’m inspired by the moments and images that ask me to slow down. Shooting with film taught me to be intentional about my work; to see the final image in my head before I ever raised the camera to my eye and pressed the shutter. I may still have some of that shy child in me, but I invite you on this amazing journey through everyday life.
