Trish Klenow is an oil painter who lives and works in Apex, North Carolina Her work can be found regularly in galleries in and around Raleigh, North Carolina Biography for Trish Klenow Trish Klenow was born and raised in a small town in northern Michigan the second of five children. The town was far from any major city, and boasted only one stoplight. It was, and is a quiet, safe, slow-moving town. From five years of age Trish Klenow knew she wanted to make art her life. She always had a pencil or paintbrush in her hand since she can remember. She began showing work and doing commissions at the age of 16. Trish Klenow majored in art and received her bachelors from Central Michigan University. She also studied at Skidmore College in NY (Summer Six Fellowship), the Art Institute of Chicago (Teacher Institute of Contemporary Art program), and then earned a Masters in Art Education at the University of Houston, TX. Klenow has been teaching art for 22 years and currently works as an art teacher at Green Level High School in Cary, NC. Klenow shows her work around the United States, she has had seven solo shows, and has been included in over 100 juried shows in her career. She has also received over a dozen awards in art and art education.

Witness This collection of landscapes extends from my back door, to Michigan, to Maine, and to the mountains of North Carolina. All of them are special places; lucious places teeming with life, color, and usually water. It’s entitled Witness because I have been to all of them hiking and reflecting. Hopefully my love of natural landscapes comes through. This work is devoid of figures. I wanted to capture them untroubled and undisturbed. In the past some of my landscape settings have changed due to construction or natural disasters, painting landscapes preserves these places in time. Trish Klenow
