Tim

Williams

Tim grew up in Marlborough, a small town in England in the lovely county of Wiltshire. After a few years as a journalist he became a social worker and came to the United States in 1969. He worked in mental health, specializing in crisis intervention and suicide prevention. Tim retired in 2011, and began his second career as an artist.

I discovered pastels 10 years ago and fell in love with the rich colors, the softness, the immediacy. My teachers, Herb Slapo, Kim Werfel and now Alain Picard have taught me so much. I most enjoy landscapes and still lifes - capturing the loveliness of nature, the intricacy of architecture, how the light falls on trees, buildings, objects. I have always loved looking at art. Never expected, this late in my life, to be creating it
