I have been painting for almost 10 years, and I continue to love oil painting. I began with acrylics but transitioned to oils early in my endeavors. Painting has become both my passion and therapy. Immersing myself in a painting is so often the best thing I do. As a semi-retired person, I have the time to paint, but more than that, I have the time to develop my skills and talent.

My love for painting began with one of those "wine and design" evenings--no wine for me, but painting absorbed my energy that evening. From there, I began to take classes as well as private lessons primarily from Marcell Hooks. Marcell has supported and mentored my efforts in still life, landscape, and even a couple portraits. I feel that this workshop will help in further developing my style, which I want to be looser, more fluid, and color balanced.
