Artist's Statement
Artist Statement Sharon Barnes Our world is painted with color. Even when it is dark, the colors are there waiting for the light. I never appreciated the vast number of hues that make up a color family until I really started looking and drawing what I observe. Over the years I have tried to interpret what I see through various mediums – watercolor, acrylic paint, drawing, scratchboard and colored pencil. I have settled on two mediums that bring me the most joy at this time of life – scratchboard and colored pencil with some enhanced with pastels. There are advantages to getting older: the opportunity to retire and to follow my passion. Sharon Barnes Sharonbarnes0404@gmail.com 919-423-7185
