Life is not always easy. During the difficult times, we need to find ways to regroup and recharge, soothe our souls. Art can pick us up and carry us to a better place. It can uplift, inspire and help transform us into our best selves. I find inspiration in my everyday surroundings. The beautiful landscapes of the world I move through take my breath away. Through impressionistic blending of colors, I work to evoke soft, dreamlike memories of vaguely familiar places. When looking at my work, people often say, “Where is that? I think I’ve been there before.” I believe there is comfort in the familiar that everyone can identify with, warm and soft, like a favorite pair of jeans. Indeed, everyone has “been there before”. My hope is that my landscapes will promote a sense of calm and well-being, and enable viewers to regroup, recharge and relax.
