Robin

Sheehy

A Native of California, my husband (Bryant) and I moved to the Chicago Metro area in December of 1995. I took some Art classes at a local college, in order to deal with the boredom of deep Winter. My instructor told me , I should exhibit and sell my work. This was the beginning of my fun immersion into the Art world. Since my first class I have studied drawing, oil, water color and painting on textiles. Joined the Naperville Art League as an exhibiting member . Eventually working at the Art League gallery! I took a break from Art to raise my two boys. With one in College and the other a graduate , I find myself back in the Studio. This time my studio is located in North Carolina. My focus is on oil on Canvas

Time goes at a different speed when I paint. The feeling of moving vibrant oil across the canvas is somehow soothing for me. This often translates to a composition reflecting a positive mood, color, design and often a fond, humorous memory. Painting are created from photographs, I have taken. Snapshots of objects or places. Always challenging myself to express the beauty I see and the vibrant colors that exist in most things!

Mixed Media, Oil / Alkyd
