About My Art
Painting is why I am alive. I began painting as a teenager, but paused when I went to college to pursue a career in Computer Programming. My husband and I travelled extensively. At Paris Musée d'Orsay, I really saw and understood the Impressionists for the first time. It's not supposed to be a photographic image. Instead, it is about how it makes you feel. It's about the colors and the movement of the paint and how it touches your heart. Van Gogh's "Starry Night" was not about how he saw the night sky, it was about how the night sky made him feel inside.
During my life, painting has gotten me through difficult times. I started with twice a week with Bob Ross, and since the death of my husband from Covid, I've retired as a programmer and I paint. I have sold a few paintings, but that's not why I paint. I paint because I have to paint. I can feel the paint moving up my arm like blood flows through my body. It covers my heart and flows back out again onto the canvas.
