Born and raised in the MIddle East, I had ample opportunities to witness a vast array of cultures , languages and customs early in my life. This exposure has endowed me with an appreciation for the world of crafts, fine art and architecture from an early stage of my life. I have taught art at the high school and university level over the course of the past 39 years. Currently I am teaching an Introduction to Landscape Painting at the newly renovated Pullen Arts Center, and have been employed by the Parks and Recreation division of Wake County as a fine arts educator for the past four years. My academic training in the fine arts includes a major in Fine Arts from St. Lawrence University in Canton NY ( 1975) as well as a Masters in Art Education with a focus on Drawing and Photography from the Rhode Island School of Design (1980).

I am passionate about painting from life, and my subject matter tends to focus on the narrative. I enjoy the experiences that life provides and tend to focus on the moments that make up our daily living experiences. I have always been attracted to a strong sense of color and light and work to impart the paintings I create with a heightened sense of color.
