About My Art
Although I had a Minor in Art at Meredith College, I did not become an artist until I retired from a K-3 teaching career. I was an exhibiting member of Cary Gallery of Artists for two years and a guest artist there for two months (2015-2018). My part-time employment has included five years of teaching expressive painting, painted paper collage and gelli plate printing at Pullen Arts Center and at Five Points Center for Active Adults, in Raleigh. I participated in two solo exhibits and in juried and non-juried group shows in NC. Recently, I’ve been predominantly painting impressionistic landscapes. I enjoy organic shapes, textures, and patterns. It is my hope that my paintings will evoke the imagination and positive emotions. I love having the opportunity to lift people spirits and to brighten up their walls.
