Hirsheimer

My name is Matt Hirsheimer and have lived most of my life on the east coast. My art influences lean from New Orleans’ Michalopoulos to Edward Hopper. I love to explore nostalgic landscapes and city scapes, where light and shadow define shape. Although not formally educated in art, my life has been spent creating art. Through extensive work with corporate America, such as PepsiCo, my art can be found worldwide and in many corporate and business collections. Now that I am retired from PepsiCo, my main focus is to continue honing my artistic skills, pursuing opportunities of showing my work to the public. I work primarily in Acrylic now, but my foundations were grooved in watercolor.

Through the use of paint and brush, my desire is to create images that calm the mood and pull the viewer into the scene before them. Through light and shadow, color and contrast, my goal is to create an image that holds the viewer for a moment to allow them to finish the story that was started in the painting.

Acrylic, Watercolor/Gouache
