Maureen

Dunlap

Maureen Dunlap has been a representational oil painter for most of her life. She studied with renowned artist Arthur Maynard in New Jersey as a teenager prior to attending the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts and the Art Institute of Philadelphia. After raising a family and having a successful career in software development, she lives in Durham, North Carolina and is now painting full time. She can be found at her Golden Belt studio most mornings. Her work falls into the category of Contemporary Realism. A perfectionist with a sense of humor, she strives to make each painting about color, contrast and a pop that evokes a "wow" to delight the viewer. Favorite genres are ocean waves and flowers, although she is also an accomplished portrait artist. Her work has been purchased by collectors around the country.
