About My Art

“I enjoy the challenge of transforming the three dimensions of life onto the two dimensions of the canvas by placing my paint into patterns of color and light. Each painting has its own unique challenges and is an exercise in continual learning and observation.”

Linda turned her artistic focus to painting in oils in early 2017, after leaving a successful career in Biotechnology Sales and Business Development.  Recently, she added soft pastels to her preferred artistic  mediums.  She is a Representational Artist with an Impressionist style and likes to connect emotionally with her subjects. She  has studied with and taken workshops from nationally acclaimed artists. She was recently juried into the American Impressionist Society’s 2025 Small Works Show, the 67th National Juried Multimedia Show in Rocky Mount, NC, and soft pastel exhibition International Pure Color 2025.    Linda has also received multiple awards at local and regional events.

Her inspiration is derived from places visited. It is the subjective beauty of a location that is inspirational for her and uses it to create a representational painting. She wants to revisit the scene and be reminded of its natural beauty and visual interest and share this with the viewer. You can find Linda  in her Wake Forest studio or on location painting en Plein Air. She is a  member of Oil Painters of America, American Impressionists Society, Paint NC,  Fine Arts League of Cary, and Pastel Society of North Carolina.

Artist's Statement
I enjoy the challenge of transforming the three dimensions of life onto a canvas and into patterns of color and light with oil paint. Each painting has its own unique challenges and is an exercise in continual learning and observation. My inspiration is derived from places I’ve visited, local landmarks, gardens, water, village scenes, and just about anything. It may be the way the light falls and reflects on the scene, it may be its colors, it may be an emotional connection and perhaps all of these. I want to revisit the scene and to be reminded of its beauty from my initial impression and to share this with the viewer.
