North Carolina native and long time Triangle resident Karen was educated at the College of Design at NCSU and Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute of NY. Karen work for IBM and Lenovo designing software applications, educational modules and more recently augmented and virtual reality environments. At this time Karen is devoting her time to the exploration of the natural world and her imagination through painting, small mixed media and sculptural objects.

Karen is a lifelong doodler, painter and all around creator. Primary self-taught, Karen's work captures her fascination and love of the natural world, often contrasting it to our technical more abstract lifestyles. Karen's style is both bold and painterly, graphic and impressionistic. The energy of the brush strokes and the colorfulness of the palette reflect her joy of visual expression.
