Linda Carolina Nuñez (childhood nickname, CARO) is an American artist currently residing in North Carolina, where she is an accomplished painter and a jewelry designer/maker. She is an Army veteran and a passionate world traveler. She has been teaching and creating art across the country and around the world since 1998. Born in the Dominican Republic, she immigrated to the United States with her family as a young child. She grew up in Lynn, Massachusetts. She briefly studied architecture at Wentworth Institute before discovering her passion for art and education. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Art Therapy and Education from Emmanuel College and a Master of Art Teaching from the University of North Carolina. She is bilingual in English and Spanish and a committed student of the Arabic language. She is currently a farmer and full-time artist in the Sandhills area.

I paint, draw, design jewelry, and create anything else in order to let my soul speak. Through the creative process I feel connected to the world, my emotions and nature which is constantly evolving and transforming. Being creative is my lifetime challenge. Art is my way to let the inner child play, relax the mind and problem solve. Creating feels to me, like a good book, my favorite food, dancing, the comfortable clothes I like to wear. It’s like chocolates and/or a good glass of wine. It’s the adventure of a lifetime and the discovery of nature all at once. I’m grounded by it, in constant awe of creation and in love with its flow. It’s the spiritual place I call home and a gift to share with the world. My work and designs are inspired by nature, my travels and emotions. From abstracts to representational; some imaginary and others somewhat realistic in nature. My goal is to convey beauty and calmness in my work, but it may also strike a chord or pull on the emotional strings of the viewers.
