I tend to describe my work as abstract expression with an impressionistic touch of urban chaos. The creative aspect of my work is ever involving and experimentation is a constant. I enjoy the spontaneity and freedom of gestural painting. I paint with acrylics and integrate mixed media elements of ink, charcoal, graphite, pastels, and oil pens on large scale canvas. Lately, I have begun experimenting with smaller scale mixed media abstracts on paper. Typically, I start out with a general idea of colors or form. I am drawn to architectural features and various block shapes and represent these intuitively. For me, the process of painting is the mechanics of exploration and discovery. Our inner world reveals itself through imagination and impression as we interact with the world around us - through this interplay, I seek to express / create work that I find aesthetically pleasing at some level.
