Artist's Statement
An artist’s style is a visual language, and in that sense, Eric McRay is multilingual. Rather than limiting himself to a single approach, he embraces a wide range of styles, techniques, and imagery to best express his ideas. Inspired by artists such as Picasso and Matisse, McRay believes that growth comes through continual exploration and reinvention. His work moves effortlessly between spontaneity and structure, abstraction and representation, always guided by his expressive goals. “I believe there is no single correct pictorial solution.” Through his paintings, drawings, and collages, McRay remains committed to discovering the next new visual language in his ongoing artistic journey.
