Christy

Pillow

A native of the coast, Christy transitioned to a full-time art career in 2008, following a transformative period of rediscovery and faith. Her work is characterized by a desire to capture the "spirit of the moment," inviting viewers to experience the atmosphere and emotion of her subjects firsthand. While deeply influenced by coastal landscapes and décor, Christy is a versatile artist whose portfolio spans architectural portraits, animals, coastal scenes, and botanical studies. Her creative practice has recently evolved to include curated home objects and oyster-based décor, blending traditional fine art with functional design. Based in Apex, North Carolina, she works on original collections and accepts private commissions, aiming to create pieces that bring inspiration and character into the home.

I believe creativity is a gift, and I am grateful every day for the opportunity to share it. My work is an invitation to the viewer to step into a specific moment—to feel the salt air or the quiet character of a subject. While my roots at the coast naturally draw me toward maritime themes, I find equal joy in capturing the personality of a family pet, the architecture of a home, or the vibrant life of a floral arrangement. In recent years, my practice has expanded beyond the canvas to include curated home accents, such as custom oyster décor and mixed-media explorations. Whether through an original painting or a personal commission, my goal remains the same: to create art that inspires and captures the true spirit of the moment.
