During my childhood in The Netherlands family, friends, dance & music (piano) played essential roles in my development. As a young woman I studied Occupational Therapy in Amsterdam. I have continued my professional practice in this field until my retirement in 2016. I immigrated to the USA as an adult in 1981 and have permanently settled in the Triangle of North Carolina. While balancing the demands of family and work I found the Textile Art of Quilting which quickly evolved into my artistic passion. Since then I have participated and won awards in a variety of textile shows and art galleries.

In my work I search to translate eternal images into textile art; universal themes not bound to a certain place or time . I prefer working with basic geometric shapes such as squares, circles, triangles or diamonds. The light in my pieces create a sense of depth and dimension beyond what form can provide.
