I have loved art for as long as I can recall. As a young child, I would sit in the woods, drawing leaves, fascinated by the vein structure. I've since explored other mediums of art and discovered my love of teaching art. In the early years, my artwork was mainly creation using pencils and/or ink. Later, I discovered acrylic paint and spent many years painting landscapes and botanical art. I was also intrigued by digital art, which led me to go back to school to get my degree in graphic design. I was fascinated by how digital art could be so expansive! In the past few years, I was introduced to the Zentangle® art method and became intrigued with this simple and meditative art. I traveled to Rhode Island to earn my certification in this art form and immediately started teaching this to many in the area where I live. I am still fascinated by the structured patterns offered in Zentangle®, When I found a desire to add color to my Zentangle® artwork, I started using a small collection of colored pencils and something exciting happened! I happily discovered how colored pencils can lend themselves to blending and mixing colors in a way that was very new to me. I was immediately hooked with the colored pencils and that love has progressed into pet portraits, botanical illustrations and teaching this gorgeous medium.
