Still drawing faces. Professional trained actor. Studied Art history, watercolors, stage design, painting, and sketching.

I would say that I'm an artist in the making and not yet an actual artist. I'm restarting my practice of sketching and drawing. I hope to find more workshops and classes to improve my skills. I am also interested in improving my painting skills with both acrylic and watercolors. I've drawn since, trite but true, I could hold a pencil and dabbled in watercolors my entire life. My mother was an artist all her life and she did drawing, watercolors, and Japanese ink painting. I've taken art classes through all of my school/college years. I've designed costumes and done set design. But I studied English at NCSU and never thought I would be good enough to study at a Fine Arts School - although on of my High School art teachers urged me to go. The only "famous" people I've studied with are Sanford Meisner and Richard Pinter at the Neighborhood Playhouse School of Acting. But that was for acting, voice, and dance. I recently took one of Michael's store online drawing class and was surprised that my hands weren't as stiff as I thought they'd be. (See my attached artwork - good but her nose is too short.) My current goal is to practice drawing, possibly create some good work, and then segue into painting. My artist statement is here I go ready to restart again.
