Wood_ Artist’s Statement Art, “…the conscious use of skill and creative imagination especially in the production of aesthetic objects ” (Merriam-Webster) Jennifer Wood paints murals; she employs the principles of design—color, shape, texture, space, form—to transform walls from ennui to awe for 28+ years. Her work is interactive, as it automatically becomes a part of the space itself; it can be physically touched and viewed from multiple perspectives. Murals are unilaterally accessible and individually interpreted; they become a piece of the mosaic that reflects a community-- a permanent part of the landscape. Jennifer Wood believes art can unite and uplift.
