Workshop: Painting Reflections in Watercolor with David Stickel, AWS, NWS, TWSA

Join FALC Master Artist David L. Stickel, AWS, NWS, TWSA, for an intensive three-day workshop exploring one of watercolor's most captivating subjects: reflections.

Internationally recognized for his stunning hyper-realistic watercolors, David is known for transforming everyday reflections in windows, chrome, glass, and water into compelling works of art. His paintings have been featured in exhibitions and publications including the American Watercolor Society International Exhibition, the National Watercolor Society, Watercolor Artist magazine, Splash: The Best of Watercolor, North Light Books, Guideposts, and North Carolina Public Television.

In this workshop, David will share the observational skills, analytical approach, and painting techniques that allow him to capture the complex interplay of light, color, shape, and distortion found in reflective surfaces. Through demonstrations, guided instruction, and individual feedback, students will learn how to simplify complex reflections, strengthen composition, and create convincing, luminous watercolor paintings.
