Do you want to open another window of your art journey? Many artists have asked how to begin pastels, what pastels to use, and how to apply them. Not sure how and where to start? Here is an opportunity to learn everything you need to know about this dry, no solvent medium, discovering the simplicity and versatility of these colorful, vibrant sticks of color.
Diana Coidan is a National and International award-winning pastelist that will introduce you to the basics, and as with any discipline, the importance of understanding these basics and application. Diana will cover the materials, styles, and fundamental elements and the difference between pastel brands and papers, showing you how to blend, crosshatch, and even erase. Learning the basic concepts, you will be able to paint confidently using any pastel style. Whether you are new to pastels or want to return to them, you will enjoy individualized instruction and create a rewarding work of art and have fun achieving it.
Participants should bring a table top or floor easel in addition to the supplies listed above.
