Abstracts and Expressions Exhibition

Experience art that invites you to feel more than simply recognize. Rather than depicting the world exactly as it appears, abstract and expressive works use color, shape, texture, movement, and composition to communicate emotion, energy, memory, and imagination. Each piece offers an opportunity for viewers to form their own personal connection and interpretation.

For this second semi-annual exhibition at The Mayton, we invited artists to embrace the freedom of creative expression in oil, acrylic, pastel, watercolor, photography, fiber, or mixed media. While abstract art has been especially popular in this venue, the exhibition welcomed any work that expressed what is in the artists’ mind, heart, or soul. Whether inspired by a mood, a memory, a dream, a longing, or a powerful idea, their creativity lead the way.
