Spring Daze Featured Artist

Be the featured artist for the 2023 Town of Cary Spring Daze festival!

The Town of Cary is partnering with the Fine Arts League of Cary to select an artwork that will be used as the featured art for the festival. All FALC members are welcome to submit one original artwork. This open call for art is now open through January 8, at which time the Festivals Committee and a member of the FALC board will select the winner.

Read on to learn about the criteria for artwork selection.

Criteria

• Must be an original work by the artist.
• Image inspired by an arts & crafts festival or Spring Daze at Cary's Bond Park.
• Image can be abstract or realistic.
• Incorporates pastels into color palette, think Spring colors.
• Communicates energy and excitement.
• Portrait or square orientation preferred
• Each artist may submit ONLY one original artwork to be considered.

Benefits

• Artwork represents Spring Daze 2023
• Elements of artwork will be included in all Spring Daze Festival marketing where deemed appropriate
• Artist biography on Town of Cary's Festival website
• Social media posts about artwork on the Town's Facebook and Instagram channels
• Credit will be provided to artist where deemed appropriate
• Artwork unveiled at the Lazy Daze Grants Ceremony in January 2023
• 10 x 10 booth space is high traffic area 
• $250 commission (that's right they are providing a stipend!)
• Artwork becomes the property of the Town of Cary
