Inaugural Art Swarm
Is A Win for The Arts
Art Swarm 2025 brought dozens of artists
to downtown Cary for plein air painting, group studio painting, artist workshops,
an art exhibition, and more!
Art Swarm 2025 – which brought dozens of artists to our plein air event in downtown Cary – is now in the books. Was it successful? You bet! For five days starting on September 3, 2025, artists from across the region set up easels and created their art in public settings up and down Academy Street and at other locations.
Plein air painting was the focus of Art Swarm but there was a lot more going on all week as well. Here are some highlights from Art Swarm 2025:
-
30 artists participated in plein air painting
-
25 artists created art works in-studio
-
Art instructors held 7 hands-on workshops
-
Dozens of art lovers stopped by to watch artists at work, and to purchase art at a Sidewalk Sale on the final day of Art Swarm
-
Nine art works – all created during Art Swarm – received special recognition (details are below).
-
The Fine Arts League of Cary sponsored Art Swarm but we could not have succeeded without the help of our volunteers and sponsors. Our sponsors are recognized below.
Will Art Swarm be back? Stay tuned, FALC is already making plans for a bigger and better Art Swarm 2026!
