Artist's Statement

I love bright colors which are richly expressed in my acrylic flowers on my website and social media sites. I also paint with oil, landscapes, portraits and figurative. I have started working with watercolor in the last few years. I started drawing and painting after retiring seven years ago. I find painting a restorative and meditational escapism. I am motivated by people and nature.

Artist's Bio

I started art with drawing at Sertoma Art Center and with Dan Nelson. Next, I worked with acrylic painting still life and nature scenes with Larry Dean and Leslie Pruneau. I attended Penland for a 2 week charcoal class with Lara Nguyen, Cullowhee mountain arts painting with Susan Lichtman, Barton College. I have had workshops with Nicole White Kennedy, Monica Linares and Alia El Bermani and others.
