Elaine uses watercolor or oil mediums for her paintings. She enjoys painting flowers, landscapes, seascapes and portraits of homes.

Elaine is originally from Michigan, she became interested in painting when she moved to Raleigh in l965 after attending a neighborhood group where a member instructed her in oil painting. Painting was to become a favorite pastime while living in France in the early l980’s. There she began oil painting in earnest.

Following the return to Cary, N.C., Elaine began painting under the instruction of Joan Vinal, Bob Jaynes, Skip Lawrence, Ruth Ogle, Ann Salisbury and Tom Jones in watercolor and Richard Fennell, Ann Ford and Joan Vinal in oils. She also taught Beginning Oil at Jordan Hall Art Center in Cary, N.C.  

Elaine enjoys painting French landscapes, restful seascapes and delicate florals. She has shown with, and is an active member of the Fine Arts League of Cary and the Watercolor Society of North Carolina.
