Jean is originally from Long Is, NY. Although she started painting as an adult she has always had the desire to capture the movement and color of nature to feed her spirit when she’s unable to be outside. When she entered her first Juried Show and won a prize in the National League of American Penwomen, she decided to pursue lessons at Suffolk Community College and received her Associate Degree. Although she started in oils, watercolor has been the medium she has used primarily though the years. She enjoys the untamed nature of watercolor and the “happy surprises” that happen in this medium. Recently she has begun to experiment in acrylic and to do Pleinaire painting in oils.

Jean has received many awards over the years and has her paintings in collections both nationally and internationally. She had her paintings in several galleries including Bellport Lane Art Gallery, Mellenium Gallery, Wyndotte Gallery, and The Priscilla Roe Gallery. She also enjoys teaching watercolor painting privately and facilitating classes in personal growth and creativity.
