
I consider myself a contemporary expressionist and work with oils and acrylics depending on the subject. While I am locally known for my Italian imagery painted with oils using a pallette knife, I love acrylics for their spontaneous results and exaggerated colors evident in my figurative "beach people" series.

Nicole Kennedy has had numerous solo and
two person shows in North Carolina and has exhibited throughout the
United States in national and international juried competitions. In
addition she has won numerous awards.
For the past
five years her time and efforts have been focused on her own art
gallery at 715 N. Person Street in Raleigh (27604) where Nicole has a
studio and exhibits her own work as well as local established and
emerging contemporary artists. Many group exhibits have opened at her
gallery location, some juried with cash awards.
In
the past two years Nicole has been written up in several publications
including features in; Wakefield Living (2003), Southern Living
(upcoming Sept 04) and Wrightsville Beach Magazine (July 04). Metro
Magazine readers gave Nicole Kennedy an Honorable Mention in a 2004
poll on favorite artists in the Triangle.
Nicole
Kennedy as born in New Canaan, CT. Attended art school at Parsons
School of Design, NYC. She moved to Raleigh in 1996 after a NYC career
in advertising to open Italian restaurant, Caffé Luna with her husband,
Parker Kennedy. Nicole has been painting full time ever since.
