Dan took up oil painting when he retired from IBM. You are never too old to learn! Retirement provided plenty of time to learn and travel ----- and see so much waiting to be painted! He studied under Maurice Loriaux, Finn Dahlin and is currently working under the guidance of Luana Luconi Winner.

A pair of camera safaris to Africa have provided subjects for painting that have yet to be exhausted. Dan captured people and animals on camera and later worked from these photos in his studio.

Portraits are another favorite subject area for Dan. With many children and grandchildren, there is never a shortage of subject matter.

He has won awards at the North Carolina State Fair and at numerous FALC competitions.
