Vinita Jain

I like to work with soft pastels and my subjects include Still Life and Landscapes. For the Still Life setups, I use objects in and around my home and for Landscapes I work with my own photographs that I have collected over the years.

I was born and brought up in India. I have been settled in the U.S. and in North Carolina for the past eight years and this is where I was first introduced to Pastels. Art has been my passion since childhood and I worked as a Graphic Designer in India. After coming to North Carolina, I took various courses in Art at Meredith College and since then have been working as a Fine Artist. I am influenced and inspired by the works of Impressionists, especially Edgar Degas and like to work in a free and spontaneous manner.

I am also a member of The Pastel Society of North Carolina.
