Amy Hautman

Colorful paintings celebrating nature’s diverse gifts including florals, landscapes and chickens.  Familiar objects are transformed  into something fresh and new. A life of practice has given Amy the  tools to embrace the spontaneous qualities of watercolor while  bringing sensitive precision to her work.  Her recent Chicken series  are Oils.

Amy comes from a family of nationally known artists.  She  earned her B.A. from the University of Minnesota majoring in Studio  Arts and Art History.  For 12 years she owned and operated a  Minnesota art gallery before moving to North Carolina to paint full  time. Her paintings are included in hundreds of public and private  collections as well as licensed on many home and garden products  worldwide.  Hautman currently lives in Cary,NC where she works and  shows in her home studio.
