Members Exhibit & Show Rules

Only FALC members whose dues are current are eligible for member's only shows & exhibits.

Work must be delivered and picked up on the date and at the time specified.

There is $1.00 hanging fee for dropping off artwork.  Members who help tag and hang the exhibit's artwork will not be required to pay the $1.00 fee.

Work must be labeled giving title of work, medium, artist's name and phone number, and assigned value or asking price.

All paintings must be ready to hang, using wire, not saw-tooth hangers. Please make sure to use heavy gauge wire and screw eyes large enough to support the weight of the piece.  Please tape the raw ends of the wire to prevent injury.

All work on paper must be matted and framed.  Large works (over 22" x 30") should be framed using plastic, not glass, because of the weight.

Work on canvas may be unframed if the edges are painted as an integral part of the work.

Limits: Weight - 75 pounds; Size - 48" in any dimension.  (Note: Senior Show - 40 lb. limit.)

Work must be appropriate for a family setting, and FALC has the right to refuse work deemed inappropriate, or presenting unmanageable display problems.  Liability: All entries will be handled with the best care possible, but FALC, its members, and the hosting facility shall not be responsible for loss or damage of any cause.  By entering any FALC exhibit or show the entering member agrees to abide by these rules.

FALC requests a 15% donation based on the price of all works sold.

Additional Rules for BB&T- Mayfair and the Daily Perk Coffee Co.:

These rules are intended to make sure that 1) the opportunity to show artwork is fairly distributed to those FALC members who want to participate, 2) the exhibiting locations get a good variety of artwork for display and 3) we meet the requirements of the exhibiting host.  Note: There are no hanging fees at these locations.

The Show Coordinator for these locations is: Kate Cook 109 Stoneleigh Dr., CARY, NC 27511 (919-387-9805).

All Locations:

1. A member can only show their artwork in any location once during a calendar year (Jan-Dec). This means that you have 2 opportunities to show during the year, once at each location.

2. You cannot show the same artwork twice at the same location.

3. If there is a member who has never shown their work at any of the locations, schedule adjustments may be made to give them an earlier opportunity.  If this happens, each member affected will be contacted to make sure that the changes are OK.

4.  If you find that you will not be able to show on your assigned dates, please give the appropriate Show Coordinator a telephone call or send them an e-mail as soon as possible so that they will have enough time to find an alternate.

5. Each exhibitor must fill out and return this contract form (by U.S. Mail or fax) to the proper Show Coordinator.  The Printing Hints page may be helpful in printing this form correctly on the first try.

BB&T:

1.  You are responsible for coordinating with the next person on the schedule.  Do not remove your artwork until you know that someone else will be hanging their artwork later on the same day.  We have promised the exhibiting host that they will not have bare walls.  Give the appropriate Show Coordinator a call if there is a problem.

2.  If there is a conflict with the date you are scheduled to hang your work or take it down please try to work out an alternative date with those who are either preceding or following your exhibit.  If this is not successful please contact the Show Coordinator.

Daily Perk:

1.  The Daily Perk owner is very concerned about any work that clashes with her décor.  That being the case, those who are interested should check out the site or send Kate Cooke some samples.

2.  Artists should coordinate the take-down and hanging times by consultation with Kate Cook.  She will meet the hanging artist at the Coffee shop and assist with the hanging process.  This ensures that everyone is happy - both the shop owner and the artist as well as assuring that everything is done safely and properly.
