FALC Members Show: This show is on exhibit at the Cary Ballet Conservatory until Jan 27th. Artwork pickup is from 12:30-2:30 on that date.  The reception and awards ceremony was at the conservatory on Sunday Nov 6th. Awards went to: First Place - Vinita Jane for Swirling Junipers; Second Place - Eleanor Edwards-Smith for River Birch Trio; Third Place - Kate Lagaly for Enduring.  Honorable Mentions went to: Kittie Rue Deemer, Susan Espin, Louise Fass, Jane Hanck, Kathryn Launey, Kay Mowery, Betty Ann Packler, Donna Schultz, Sally Sikes and Paulette Wright. The Show Chair was Jane Hopkins. assisted by Jane Needham.

FALC Exhibits: FALC has exhibits of the members' artwork showing almost continuously at the Cary Ballet Conservatory, the Glenaire Retirement Center, the International Ballet Academy. a Fonville Morrisey office and in the hallways leading to the FALC Office.  See the Events Calendar below for information about the current exhibits.  Additionally, see the Individual Artist's Exhibits schedule below which gives dates for individual FALC member artist's exhibits at several local businesses.  The Exhibit Facilities & Addresses Table below gives address information for all these locations and a link to a map showing them.

Recent Events

FALC's 2011 Juried Painting & Sculpture Exhibition:  This show, FALC's major event of the year, was on display from Nov 16, 2011 through January 10, 2012. The paintings and 2D art were at the  Page-Walker Art and History Center and the Sculpture and 3D art were at the Cary Arts Center. The reception and awards ceremonies were on Sunday December 4. Please go to the Show Report Page for a list of the award winners and sponsors, more show details and slide shows of show artwork and show scenes. 

FALC 9th Annual Senior Show:  Was on exhibit at the Cary Senior Center from September 7  to October 7, 2011.  This show featured two-dimensional art made by local residents over the age of 55. Awards totaling $300 were presented at the reception on Friday September 30.  Awards went to: First Place - Dan Kelley for Zimbabwean Lady; Second Place - Jane Hanck for Peppers in Blue Colander; Third Place - Jill Wise for Beached. Five Honorable Mentions went to: Lou Cicardo, Bettina Lewicki, Sharh Sheffield, Linda Mobley and John Sweemer.   Don Hamilton was the show chairperson.

FALC Expressions, Impressions and Interpretations: This show for all media was open to all FALC artists and was displayed at the Jordan Hall Arts Center Gallery from February 25th through March 23rd, 2011.  The reception was held on Friday February 25. The Peoples Choice Awards went to: First Place - Deanne Hooker for City Life at St. Stephens; Second Place - Geraldine Calvignac for Fleur de Bretagne; Third Place - John Sweemer for Monhegan Ferry.  Deanne Hooker was in charge of this show.

ART55 - 55 Works of Art by Local Artists over 55: Sponsored by Cary Senior Center, Inc. and the Fine Arts League of Cary.  Exhibit ran from Mar 7 to Apr 1.  Artists’ Reception was on Fri Mar 25. This show was limited to the first 55 two and three dimensional works submitted. Awards were given for First, Second and Third Places. Award winners to follow.

FALC Members Show:  This show, which was open to all FALC artists, was on display from Oct 29 to Jan. 4, 2011 at the Page-Walker Arts and History Center Galleries in Cary. The Reception was on Friday, Oct. 29. Each member artist was entitled to enter one piece. Cash awards were given. The Members Show Page lists the award winners and has links to show photos.  The show chair was Jane Hopkins. 

The 2010 FALC 16th Annual Juried Art Exhibition:  This show opened on June 4 and ran through  July 17 at the Halle Cultural Arts Center in Apex, NC.  Seventy artworks were on display.  The reception and awards ceremony was on Friday evening June 4.  Click on the show link above for more information. The show was co-ordinated by Natalie and Al Winters (919-677-8515).
