FALC Exhibits: FALC has exhibits of the members' artwork showing almost continuously at The Cary Ballet Conservatory, The Glenaire Retirement Center and in the hallways leading to the FALC Office.  See the Events Calendar below for information about the current exhibits.  Additionally, see the Individual Artist's Exhibits schedule below which gives dates for individual FALC member artist's exhibits at several local businesses.  The Exhibit Facilities & Addresses Table below gives address information for all these locations and a link to a map showing them.

Upcoming Events

Seventh Annual FALC Senior Art Exhibition:  This event which will run from Sept. 15 to October 10 is is sponsored by FALC, the Cary Senior Center and the Town of Cary.  It will be held at the Cary Senior Center, 120 Maury O'Dell Place in Bond Park and is open seniors age 55 and older.  The judge will be Susan Hecht. Contact CSC at 919-469-4081 after August 1st for an entry form.  See the FALC Calendar below for more date information.

Recent Events

FALC 15th Annual Juried Art Exhibition:   This show, FALC's major event of the year, was on display at the Raleigh's Hope Community Church from May 8 through June 27, 2009. The award winners were announced and their awards presented at the well attended show reception on Friday evening, May 8th at the church. There were 302 art works submitted for the show and 79 were selected by the juror, F. Lennox Campello of Philadelphia, PA  Please note the 3 show links below. This show was coordinated by Kathryn Cook who was assisted by a host of FALC volunteers. Thanks to all who helped make the show a success.

2008 Holiday Members Show:  This annual FALC show at the Page-Walker Arts & History Center opened with the reception on November 2 and closed January 7, 2009. Member participation was high with eighty three members each entering one piece. The show judge was Beth Owens a UNC Charlotte Adjunct Professor.  Awards (13 monetary prizes) were presented at the reception. The First Place winner was Dan Kelley,  Second Place winner was Diana Coidan and Third Place went to Linda Koffenberger. The ten Honorable Mention winners each received Jerry's Artarama gift certificates. Show chair Don Hamilton, was assisted by 19 great volunteers.  FALC thanks all who worked to make this show a success.

2008 FALC Annual Members Dinner:  The 2008 FALC Annual Dinner was held on November 19th at the Cary Senior Center.  The dinner is FALC's annual social event, and many members turned out for an evening of fun and food.  Each member brought a favorite potluck dish for others to enjoy, and the food was great. Entertainment was provided by guitar player and singer Rob Sharer.  Don Hamilton served as Master of Ceremonies and the invocation was by Robert Williams.  Don passed out tickets which were used for the door prize drawings, and many nice items were distributed.  A surprised Tom McKee received the Volunteer of the Year award for his work as the FALC webmaster.  View photos from the dinner.  This year's dinner was coordinated by Don Hamilton assisted by a host of volunteers. Our thanks to all who made this event possible.

Jordan Hall Show for Emerging Artists:   This show was for emerging FALC artists (novices who have never had a solo show).  Betty Ann Packler was the artist selected for the 2008 show.  The show ran from Sept. 3 through Sept. 27, and the reception was on Fri. Sept. 26.  Deanne Hooker coordinated this show.  

September Senior Show:  This FALC show was held at the Cary Senior Center from September 3 through Sept 26. The reception was on Sept. 26. First place was awarded to Nancy Sonnhalter, Second place was awarded to Don Hamilton and third place went to   Winnie Ferguson who was The FALC coordinator for this show.
