FALC 14th Annual Juried Art Exhibition:   This show, FALC's major event of the year, will be on display at the Hope Community Church, 821 Buck Jones Road, Raleigh, NC 27606 from April 25 through June 14, 2008. The award winners were announced and their awards presented at the well attended show reception on Friday evening, April 25 at the church. There were 495 art works entered in the show and 111 were selected by the juror, Gina Cavallo Collins of Richmond, VA.  Please go to the Show Report Page for a list of the award winners and sponsors, more show details and slide shows of show images.  This show was coordinated by Kathryn Cook who was assisted by a host of FALC member volunteers. Thanks to all who helped make the show a success.

FALC 2008 Teen Show:  On display from April 13 to May 9 at the Cary Ballet Conservatory.  Show winners are 1st - Blair Presnell from Athens Drive HS, 2nd - Megan Jesse
from Athens Drive HS, 3rd - Paige Goodwin from Cary HS, and 4th- Xingyne Sarah He from Enloe HS.  The schools of these winners  also receive cash donations to further their art programs.  Additionally, ten Honorable Mentions were awarded gift certificates from McDonald's.  Here is a complete list of the winners and a photo slide show.  The show opened with a reception on Sunday April 13. FALC thanks to the Cary Whole Foods Market for providing the fruit and vegetable trays. Kathy Kochevar 460-0648 is in charge of this show. The team assisting Kathy was: Brenda Brokke, Sonya Fox, Sarah Fox, Richard Fox, Lori LaBerge, Cami LaBerge, Charlotte Stanek and Betty Ann Packler.

FALC Exhibits: FALC has exhibits of the members' artwork showing almost continuously at The Cary Ballet Conservatory, The Glenaire Retirement Center and in the hallways leading to the FALC Office.  See the Events Calendar below for information about the current exhibits.  Additionally, see the Individual Artist's Exhibits schedule below which gives dates for individual FALC member artist's exhibits at several local businesses.  The Exhibit Facilities & Addresses Table below gives address information for all these locations and a link to a map showing them.

Recent Events

2007 Annual Holiday Members Show: This show was on display from November 2 through January 2, 2008, at the Page Walker Art & History Center (PW).  Sixty FALC members each entered one piece of artwork.  The judge was L. Diane Johnson. The show reception and presentation of awards (13 monetary prizes) was on Sunday, November 11 from 2:00 to 4:00 at the Page Walker.  Lynda Chambers Bilbrough, Ann Hair and Wendy Musser coordinated this show assisted by multiple volunteers.  Thanks to all who helped.  See the 2007 Member's Show page for more photos and information about the show. 

FALC Annual Members Dinner:  The 2007 FALC Annual Dinner was held on November 6th at the Cary Senior Center in Bond Park.  The dinner is FALC's annual social event, and FALC members who did not attend missed a fun evening.  There was great food with members bringing their favorite dishs for others to enjoy. Frank Lazzaro served as  Master of Ceremonies, and the entertainment was by Rog Bates, a local comedian and musician ( www.rogbates.com ).  The 2007 FALC Volunteer of the Year award was given to Kimberlee Maselli, and Ella Williams' multiple-years-of-service to FALC was recognized via a special award.  The FALC 2007 Annual Report was contained in the program handout.  There was a drawing for some nice door prizes which were donated by several of the members. Many thanks to them. This year's dinner was coordinated by Beryl Lazzaro assisted by a host of volunteers. They made the event a great success, and their efforts are very much appreciated.  Here are some photos from the event.

October Monthly FALC Meeting:  This meeting was about the FALC web site and PC computer information for artists.  The meeting handout is available on-line.

FALC Senior Art Exhibition:  The Cary Senior Center and the Fine Arts League of Cary hosted the 5th Annual Seniors Art Exhibition from September 4 through September 29.  This art show featured 71 pieces of two dimensional art made by local residents over the age of 55.  A reception including the awarding of ribbons and cash prizes was held on Friday evening September 28.  Thanks to Winnie Ferguson who was the FALC coordinator for this show.
