FALC Exhibits: FALC has exhibits of the members' artwork showing almost continuously at The Cary Ballet Conservatory, The Glenaire Retirement Center and in the hallways leading to the FALC Office.  See the Events Calendar below for information about the current exhibits.  Additionally, see the Individual Artist's Exhibits schedule below which gives dates for individual FALC member artist's exhibits at several local businesses.  The Exhibit Facilities & Addresses Table below gives address information for all these locations and a link to a map showing them.

Miniature Artists of America - Traveling Art Exhibition:  FALC and the Town of Cary are fortunate to be able host this traveling show from September 24 to October 25, 2010 at the Page-Walker Arts and History Center. This four-panel exhibition showcases some of the world's best miniature art. To preview this show visit The Miniature Artists of America website and scroll down.  Concurrent with this exhibition FALC will sponsor a Small Works and Miniature Art Show which will be open to all artists.  FALC members will receive the Show Prospectus with their June Sketch Pad newsletter. The show chair is Joyce McKee. 

Eighth Annual FALC Senior Art Exhibition:  This event which will run from Sept. 21 to October 14 and is sponsored by FALC, the Cary Senior Center and the Town of Cary.  It will be held at the Cary Senior Center, 120 Maury O'Dell Place in Bond Park and is open to seniors age 55 and older.  The reception will be on Friday Sept. 24, 6 to 8 pm. The judge is Veronica Samuel.  The chair for this show is Winnie Ferguson - 919-468-8223.

Emerging Artist Show:  This annual show features an emerging artist from the Fine Arts League of Cary. Deanne Hooker (919-380-9454) is the show chair for this event to be held at the Jordan Hall Arts Center, 908 N. Harrison Ave. in Cary.  The show will run from Sept. 2 to Sept. 30.  The reception will be on Friday Sept. 30.

FALC Members Show:  This show is open to all FALC artists. The show will be on display from Oct 29 to Jan. 4, 2011 at the Page-Walker Arts and History Center Galleries in Cary. The Reception will on Friday, Oct. 29 from 6 to 8 pm. Each member artist is entitled to enter one piece. Cash awards will be given. The show chair is Jane Hopkins (919-848-0103). See the Events Calendar below for more detailed date info.

Recent Events

The 2010 FALC 16th Annual Juried Art Exhibition:  This show opened on June 4 and ran through  July 17 at the Halle Cultural Arts Center in Apex, NC.  Seventy artworks were on display.  The reception and awards ceremony was on Friday evening June 4.  Click on the show link above for more information. The show was co-ordinated by Natalie and Al Winters (919-677-8515).  

ART55 - 55 Works of Art by Local Artists over 55:
Sponsored by Cary Senior Center, Inc. and the Fine Arts League of Cary.  Exhibit ran from Mon Mar 16 to Fri Apr 16.  Artists’ Reception was on Fri Mar 26. This show features two-dimensional art and was limited to the first 55 two-dimensional mixed-media works. Awards were: First Place: John Sweemer for Homegrown, Second Place: Don Hamilton for Windstorm, Third Place: Joyce McKee for Magnolia IV, Honorable Mentions went to: Nanci Tanton and Tom McCarty. 

The March FALC Show at Jordan Hall: This show ran from Tuesday, March 2 to Thursday April 1. The theme of the show was: Past, Present and Future. The Reception was on Friday March, 26. The Peoples' Choice awards went to: First Place: Natalie Winters for Lady in Red, Second Place: Christy Robinson Pillow for Sweet Moments, Third Place: Nanci Tanton for Santorini Passage.  The show chair was Deanne Hooker, 380-9454.

The Fine Arts League of Cary's Members Show:  This show was on display from Oct 25 to Nov 30 at the Page-Walker Arts and History Center Galleries in Cary.  The Reception was on Sun, Oct. 25, and the awards (13 monetary prizes) were presented then.  The show chairperson was Don Hamilton.  See the Members Show Page for more information and links to slide shows of representative show artwork and scenes related to the show.

The FALC 2009 Annual Dinner:  This annual event was held on Thursday November 19  at the Cary Senior Center in Cary's Bond Park.  The dinner is FALC's annual social event, and attendees enjoyed an evening of fun and food.  Each member brought a favorite potluck dish for others to enjoy, and the food was great. Entertainment was provided by guitar player and singer Rob Sharer.  Some lucky members received one of the many door prizes provided by Jerry's Artarama. It was announced that Program Chair, Linda Koffenberger, was selected to receive the FALC Volunteer of the Year award for 2009.  Don Hamilton, who served as MC also arranged this event and it was beautifully decorated by Elizabeth Ray.

Seventh Annual FALC Senior Art Exhibition:  This event which ran from Sept. 15 to October 10 and was sponsored by FALC, the Cary Senior Center and the Town of Cary.  It was held at the Cary Senior Center, 120 Maury O'Dell Place in Bond Park and was open to seniors age 55 and older.  The judge was Susan Hecht.  The chair for this show was Winnie Ferguson.  

Emerging Artist Show:  This annual show features an emerging artist from the Fine Arts League of Cary. Kathryn Casper was chosen for the 2009 show which was at the Jordan Hall Arts Center, 908 N. Harrison Ave. in Cary.  The show ran from Sept. 2 to Sept. 30.  The reception was Friday Sept. 18.
