Aimee Cuthrell

I collaborate with the client to create a portrait that captures the subject’s inner beauty and unique character.

People fascinate me and being a portrait artist is pure joy!  I am amazed at how unique God created each of us.  Portraiture is a wonderful way to capture that uniqueness and celebrate the expressive characteristics of a person that will be remembered for years to come.  I am so blessed to be a part of such a great tradition.

My interest in art began as a child watching my mother paint.  Although I graduated with a B.S. in Business, my formal training in art began at Meredith College.  After graduating, I went on to work in the Graphic Arts Industry.  During this time I worked with a weekly studio group, volunteered with the NC Museum of Art and continued my studies through various workshops and classes.

In 1993, I discontinued my career to become a full-time wife and mother.  It was during this time that I took my first portrait class and my love for portraiture began.  I continued my portrait studies through various workshops and participation with a weekly portrait group.  I later went on to teach elementary art and found my students to be a great source of inspiration.

I now have a studio at home and work exclusively in pastel portraiture.  My work can be seen in various exhibitions throughout the Triangle area.

“For from Him and through Him and to Him are all things,
To Him be the glory forever!  Amen.”
Romans 11:36
