Diana L. Coidan

Diana works primarily in pastel and watercolor.  She enjoys the ever-changing striking sky colors both day and night in her landscapes with pastel medium.  Colorful marine life provide her with her favorite subjects to paint in watercolor.

I began painting at an early age; in fact, I can’t remember when I wasn’t an artist.  A Business College graduate, I retired from dental office administration to pursue my love for art.  Self-taught in oil and acrylic for many years, I became serious about my art and took a new approach adding watercolor and pastel to my mediums.  I feel these have been the most expressive and rewarding mediums to work in.

A native of Vandergrift, PA, a small town east of Pittsburgh, I have resided in North Raleigh since 1982.  I work in my home studio and continue to explore new possibilities enhancing my capabilities through workshops with well-known instructors.  My work can be found at Mattie King Davis Gallery, Beaufort, Carolina Artists Studio Gallery, Morehead City, Collectors Gallery-Visual Art Exchange, Raleigh, and Nicole’s studio & Art Gallery, Raleigh.

“It is not what I have retired from, but what I have retired to.”  I love every minute that I can spend at an easel.
