The Fine Arts League of Cary (FALC), which is in its
fourteenth year of operation, is a visual arts group of over 200
members including painters, sculptors, photographers and all others
engaged in producing visual art as well as those wishing to support
these endeavors. Although its home base is in Cary, NC, the
FALC membership includes, and is open to, professional,
non-professional and emerging artists as well as supporters of the
visual arts from any location. See the Contacts
& Office Information page for our
mailing address and directory of officers and chairs.
Open
to the public, our monthly meetings feature guest
speakers from the art community. Programs treat a variety of
topics, including sources of inspiration, as well as techniques and
materials used in the creative process. Guest artists often present
demonstrations and critiques designed to encourage and educate artists
of all levels. Normally these monthly meetings are held at 7:30 pm on
the 4th Thursday of each month at Jordan Hall Art Center, 908 N.
Harrison Ave., Cary, NC. There are no meetings in August and
December. The November meeting is replaced with our annual
dinner. Information about upcoming programs is presented in
the league's newsletter, The
Sketch Pad or one may contact the league's Program
Chairman listed on the Contacts & Office Information
page.
The 2006 FALC Annual Report which was presented at the FALC Annual Dinner on November 7, 2006 gives more information about the organization.
FALC provides public service programs
through ongoing art exhibits at area retirement and assisted-living
homes, sponsorship of student art shows and its major Annual Juried Art
Show which is open to all artists. Dates for FALC's upcoming shows and
exhibits can be found on the Events
page. If you are an area artist or a supporter of the arts we encourage
you to visit our Membership page and learn
more about the benefits of FALC membership and how to join us.
